Brow Aftercare Instructions
After you walk out of my studio, the aftercare and choosing to follow them is essential to ensure better healing and to get naturally beautiful looking brows.
Everyone heals differently, which means it may not be perfect the first session.
Please be patient as this is a process, do not expect perfect results after the 1st session and it is normal to need 2 sessions to achieve the desired results.
Some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment, or due to some medications may require additional sessions.
Your brows may start peeling after the 3rd day and finish around the 7th day.
Sometimes it will take a bit longer to fully heal due to medications, dry skin or sensitive skin.
DO NOT scrub, rub or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off naturally up to the 7 days of healing
DO NOT scratch, pick or peel the area as it can cause scarring and/or color loss
If there is any redness or swelling it will dissipate within 24 hours.
Results will vary for all individuals, and we cannot guarantee your results.
What to avoid::
THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS as everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle and long-term care of your brow tattoo.
The sun is the worst thing for PMU and tattoos!!
Use at least SPF 30 to protect your brows, sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.
Do not do laser your brow area (IPL etc.), some lasers may change the color of the ink.
As the tattoo fades the strokes will get fainter and less defined.
Maintenance is required to maintain desired results. Touchups are done on average every 9 - 24 months to maintain your brow tattoo.
Hair stroke brows typically last 1-3 years.
Hot steam showers feel great but unfortunately can cause dehydrated skin and inflammation/cellular breakdown.
An active lifestyle and oily skin are more prone to premature fading and brows will require more maintenance.
Glycolic acid, retinols, AHA's, anti-aging lotions and serums, microdermabrasion, chemical face peels and laser treatments must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten or discolor the pigment.
If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.
Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 5-8 weeks later. It takes about 4 weeks for the brow area’s skin cells to completely regenerate and settle in.
Once again...there are no implied or written guarantees if you do not take care of your tattoo, it will not look good or last.
Lip Blushing After Care Instructions
LIP BLUSH AFTERCARE TREATMENT
When you get home, you will want to wipe your tattoo every hour with a wet cotton round or wet wipes and pat the area dry to ensure no fluids sit and form scabs. Fluids will leak from the tattoo to form scabs and you DO NOT want these fluids to sit on your tattoo and form these scabs.
Moisturize with the provided ointment as needed just enough to hydrate your skin.
Do not use anything other than the aftercare provided for healing!
Moisture: Lips will tend to be very dry. Keep them moist
Some peeling may occur. DO NOT PEEL OFF! Do not wipe your lips with a napkin while eating, blot instead.
Drink through a straw. Depending on the type of procedure either lip blushing or lipstick look, Lips have a tendency to fade after the first procedure.
No smoking right after lip procedure.
♦Your lips may feel swollen and sore at this stage so treat with care. If you have swelling, an ice bag (Wrap an ice pack or a Ziplock of ice in a towel) could be applied for the first few hours, alternating ten minutes on, ten minutes off.
Remember!
YOU WILL WAIT 6-8 WEEKS until we see you at your perfecting session, for good reason.
It takes this length of time for the skin to not only heal, but for the color to settle and reveal its true shade and final shape. At the perfecting session, we can address shape and color alterations to suit.
In my experience, by the time I see you next, your lip will have settled, and the color and shape will have softened.
Until then, do not worry and let the process take its journey, as they will change dramatically, over the coming few weeks.
If you have any issues that have not been addressed above, please contact me and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Saline Removal After Care Instructions
WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE FOR SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL?
Aftercare isn't too complicated, however it is critical to follow all instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
Keep area clean and open to the air. Do not cover with a band-aid or anything else, leave open to air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.
Clean by blotting area and using saline wipes provided 3 to 4 times a day using a fresh napkin or paper towel. No ice.
Do not soak the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry. Blot with saline immediately following a shower.
No bathing, swimming, saunas, hot tubs, or tanning. No exceptions.
Do not disrupt the scabbing process (I.E. No picking, scratching, etc.) all scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
Topical cosmetics may not be applied over the procedural area to coverup or hide the appearance of the wound until after the brow as completely healed (usually 10-14 days). Cosmetics may contain ingredients that are contraindicative to healing wounds and may contain bacteria.
Treat area with TLC. Do not do anything at all that could cause issues or problems to the treated area.
Once all scabbing has naturally fallen off, apply one drop vitamin E oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. Do not start applying the oil until all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off.
It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off
It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions. Results cannot be foreseen, predicted or guaranteed.
If you will notice any sign of the infection consult with a doctor
